Don’t pack away the camping equipment just yet as England’s largest annual festival, Heritage Open Day, is about to give you a VIP pass to normally restricted areas of history and culture – and it’s all FREE!

Running from 8th – 11th September 2018, England’s Heritage Open Days is ideal for those start of school term history projects or just taking advantage of the remaining summer sun with a weekend excursion, bringing the past well and truly into the present. Now is the time to discover hidden gems and celebrate our heritage that are the foundations to England’s greatness!

Established in early 1994 as England’s contribution to European Heritage Days, many landmarks steep in history and culture throw open their doors and run tours, events and activities to enrich and excite even the youngest of historian. Over 1000 places with 40,000 volunteers across England have organised 5,000 events for you and your family to explore and enjoy.

So, don’t pack away your tent or camping stove! Pack the car, the family, and venture back in time to what is sure to be an historical event.
