High-Performance 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 Power

The Renogy Core 12V 100Ah Trolling Motor Battery is a deep-cycle lithium iron phosphate battery designed to provide reliable, sustained power for trolling motors and other demanding 12V applications. With a rated voltage of 12.8V and 100Ah capacity, it delivers strong performance while remaining significantly lighter and more compact than traditional lead-acid alternatives.

Renogy states that the battery can provide 150A continuous discharge and up to 300A for 30 seconds, making it suitable for applications that require high current delivery. The battery can also be connected in series for use with compatible 24V and 36V trolling motor systems.

The technical data specifies prismatic LiFePO4 cells, a 12.8V rated voltage, 100Ah rated capacity and a 10–14.6V operating voltage range.

Lightweight Group 24 Design

One of the major advantages of this battery is its reduced size and weight compared with conventional lead-acid batteries. At approximately 9.9kg, Renogy describes it as around half the weight of a comparable lead-acid battery, helping reduce overall load while making installation and handling easier.

Its compact Group 24 format measures approximately 260 x 168 x 209mm, making it suitable for installations where available battery space is limited. Renogy also states that the Group 24 housing is around one-third smaller than a typical Group 31 battery while still delivering 100Ah of capacity.

This makes it especially useful for boats, fishing setups, leisure vehicles and other installations where saving both space and weight is important.

150A Smart BMS Protection

An integrated Battery Management System continuously monitors and protects the battery during charging and discharging. The BMS is designed to provide protection against several common electrical and environmental conditions, including:

• High and low voltage
• Charge and discharge overcurrent
• Short circuit
• High and low temperature

These safeguards help reduce the risk of damage to the battery cells and connected equipment, particularly when the battery is being used in demanding marine or off-grid conditions.

The battery supports a maximum continuous charge current of 100A and maximum continuous discharge current of 150A, with a peak discharge capability of 300A for 30 seconds.

Bluetooth Monitoring with the Renogy App

Built-in Bluetooth connectivity allows the battery to communicate directly with the Renogy App, giving users convenient access to important battery information from a compatible smartphone or tablet.

Renogy's current product page specifies Bluetooth 5.3 and allows real-time monitoring of information including battery status, system overview, power usage and fault alerts.

This makes it easier to keep track of remaining battery power while a trolling motor, fishing equipment or other connected loads are operating, reducing the need for separate monitoring equipment.

IP67 Protection for Marine and Outdoor Use

The battery is housed in a durable ABS casing with an IP67 protection rating, helping protect the internal cells and electronics against dust and water ingress. Renogy also describes the housing as corrosion-resistant and designed to withstand splashes and demanding marine environments.

This makes the battery particularly well suited to trolling motors and electric outboards, while Renogy also lists suitability for applications including RVs, workshops and off-road power systems.

The supported discharge temperature range extends from -20°C to 55°C, while charging is specified between 0°C and 55°C. Storage temperature is 0°C to 45°C, with operating relative humidity from 5% to 95%.

Long Cycle Life and Flexible System Configuration

LiFePO4 chemistry is designed for repeated deep-cycle use and substantially longer service life than many traditional lead-acid batteries. Renogy rates this battery for approximately 5,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, based on testing at 0.5C and 25°C.

The battery supports 4S, 4P and 4S4P connection configurations, providing flexibility when designing larger battery banks for increased system voltage, capacity or both.

It uses M8 terminals and is supplied with two long terminal bolts and two insulating sleeves, together with the user manual.
