Renogy CORE 12V 2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter
Powerful 2000W Pure Sine Wave Power
The Renogy CORE 2000W Inverter is designed to convert power from a 12V DC battery system into usable 220–240V AC electricity, allowing mains-powered equipment to be operated when away from a conventional electrical supply. With a continuous output of 2000W and 50Hz output frequency, it is particularly suited to leisure vehicles, campervan conversions, motorhomes, boats and other off-grid electrical installations.
Unlike modified sine wave inverters, this model produces a pure sine wave output designed to closely replicate household mains electricity. This provides cleaner and smoother power for a wide range of equipment, including tools, fans, lighting and electronic devices, while helping minimise electrical interference. The manual confirms a rated 12V DC input, 2000W continuous output and 220–240V AC output.
Automatic AC Priority & Fast Transfer
One of the key advantages of the Renogy CORE inverter is its built-in AC priority function. When both an external AC mains supply and battery power are available, the inverter automatically prioritises the incoming mains supply rather than drawing energy from the battery.
If the external AC supply is removed, the unit automatically changes over to battery-powered inverter operation. When AC mains power becomes available again, it switches back automatically. The transfer takes place within approximately 50 milliseconds in either direction, helping maintain a convenient and largely seamless supply to connected equipment.
This makes the inverter particularly useful in motorhome or campervan installations where the vehicle may regularly alternate between campsite hook-up power and an onboard leisure battery.
Comprehensive Built-In Protection
Renogy has incorporated multiple electronic protection systems to protect both the inverter and connected battery system during operation. These include electronic overload protection, low-battery voltage protection, over-temperature protection and output short-circuit protection.
The inverter monitors battery voltage and can sound an audible warning when voltage falls towards approximately 10.7V. If voltage continues to drop to approximately 9–10V, the unit automatically shuts down to help prevent excessive battery discharge. The inverter also provides high-voltage shutdown protection, with the manual listing shutdown at approximately 16.3V.
For the 2000W version, Renogy recommends a 250A battery fuse as part of the installation.
Cooling, Controls & Remote Operation
The Renogy CORE 2000W uses built-in cooling fans to help dissipate heat during operation. The manual specifies an ambient operating temperature range of 0°C to 40°C and recommends installing the inverter in a dry, well-ventilated position with approximately 100mm of clearance around the unit to promote effective cooling
Status indicators on the inverter provide easy monitoring of operation. A green power indicator shows that AC power is available and the inverter is operating normally, while a red fault indicator warns of conditions such as low or high voltage, overload or excessive temperature.
A wired remote control is also supplied, allowing the inverter to be conveniently switched or controlled when the main unit is mounted somewhere less accessible. The package also includes the inverter, user manual and 2000W-rated 20mm² x 600mm connection cable.
Designed for 12V Leisure Battery Systems
The inverter is intended for connection to a 12V nominal DC battery system and can be used with suitable sealed lead-acid, flooded lead-acid, lithium or gel deep-cycle batteries.
The rear of the inverter features M8 positive and negative DC terminals together with a grounding connection, while the AC side incorporates UK-compatible outlets on the UK specification model. The supplier specifically confirms that this version is supplied with UK plugs and sockets.
For safe installation, the inverter should be mounted as close to the battery bank as practical in a dry and well-ventilated location. Renogy states that installation and servicing should be carried out by appropriately qualified electrical personnel.
