Renogy Core 300amp Battery Shunt With Bluetooth
Accurate Real-Time Battery Monitoring
The Renogy Battery Shunt 300 provides detailed monitoring of your battery system, helping you understand exactly how much energy is entering or leaving the battery. Installed in the negative side of the battery circuit, the shunt measures current flow and communicates the information wirelessly to a compatible device.
It supports a maximum continuous current of 300A, with a maximum peak current of 500A for less than 10 seconds. Current measurement accuracy is rated at ±1%, with a fine 0.01A resolution, allowing small changes in charging and discharging current to be monitored accurately.
The unit can be used with battery banks ranging from 1Ah to 6500Ah, making it suitable for everything from relatively compact leisure battery installations to considerably larger off-grid energy systems.
Bluetooth Monitoring Through the Renogy DC Home App
Built-in Bluetooth LE and BLE Mesh communication allows the Battery Shunt 300 to connect directly to the Renogy DC Home App, removing the need for a permanently mounted physical battery display.
Once paired, users can monitor important battery information from a compatible smartphone, including battery state of charge, temperature and system voltage. The DC Home App can also record historical information and provide alerts, helping you keep track of battery performance over time.
The shunt can also communicate with compatible RENOGY ONE products. When used with a RENOGY ONE Core, long-range monitoring and system integration can be added through the wider Renogy monitoring ecosystem. Renogy's quick guide shows both direct short-range Bluetooth monitoring through DC Home and wireless long-range monitoring when combined with RENOGY ONE Core.
Wide 8–120V System Compatibility
The Battery Shunt 300 operates from an 8–120V DC power supply, giving it compatibility with a broad range of battery system voltages. It is suitable for multiple battery chemistries including lead-acid, lithium iron phosphate (LFP), lithium-ion and Ni-MH batteries.
Its wide voltage range makes it suitable for electrical installations in motorhomes, caravans, campervans, boats and off-grid systems, where accurately monitoring battery condition is particularly important.
The system layout shown in Renogy's quick guide places the shunt between the main battery negative terminal and the negative side of connected loads, chargers and inverters. An optional B2 connection can also be connected to a starter battery for additional voltage monitoring.
Main & Starter Battery Monitoring
In addition to monitoring the main leisure battery, the Battery Shunt 300 provides a secondary B2 connection that can be used to monitor a starter battery.
The main battery positive is connected through the B1 connection, while the optional B2 connection can be connected to the starter battery positive. This allows users to keep track of the main battery system while also viewing starter battery voltage, particularly useful in motorhomes, campervans and other vehicle-based installations.
The PLS product information specifically confirms that the system displays state of charge, battery temperature and starter battery voltage through its connected monitoring system.
Included Battery Temperature Monitoring
A dedicated 1.5m temperature sensor is supplied with the Battery Shunt 300. Once installed against the main battery, the sensor measures battery temperature and sends this information to the monitoring system.
This allows the DC Home App to display battery temperature and issue high- or low-temperature warnings where applicable, providing another useful layer of information when monitoring battery health and operating conditions.
The temperature sensor itself supports a measurement range from -20°C to 80°C, with stated accuracy of ±1%.
Compact Design & Flexible Installation
Measuring approximately 134 x 97 x 31mm and weighing just 260g, the Battery Shunt 300 has a compact design that can be integrated neatly into an existing electrical installation.
Renogy specifies surface mounting, with mounting holes provided on the housing. The quick guide states that it can be mounted to a wall, floor or used in a suitable floating installation depending on the application. The main B- and P- battery connections use robust M10 terminals.
The supplied protective covers help enclose the electrical connections, while built-in power and Bluetooth LED indicators provide quick visual confirmation of operating and connection status. The quick guide also shows the unit's compact 134 x 97 x 31mm dimensions and identifies the M10 B- and P- terminals, power indicator, Bluetooth indicator and reset button.
