The Renogy REGO 12V 35A AC-DC Battery Charger is designed to provide a reliable mains-powered charging solution for compatible 12V battery systems. With a maximum output current of 35A, it provides a substantial charging current for maintaining and replenishing batteries used in motorhomes, caravans, boats and other suitable applications.

The charger operates from an AC input of 180V to 264V and provides a DC output voltage range of 9V to 17V. It is designed around an adaptive four-stage charging system, allowing the charger to adjust its charging process according to the battery's requirements.

The REGO RACC35A1W supports a range of battery technologies, giving users greater flexibility when building or upgrading a 12V electrical system.

Compatible with Multiple Battery Types

The REGO 35A charger is designed to work with several common 12V battery technologies. Supported battery types include lithium, AGM/SLD, gel, flooded and user-defined batteries.

A dedicated battery-type setting allows the charger to be configured for the battery being used. User Mode also allows charging parameters to be customised where required, subject to the battery manufacturer's recommended settings.

This makes the REGO suitable for a variety of battery systems rather than being limited to one particular battery chemistry.

When using the charger, it is important that the correct battery type and charging parameters are selected for the battery being charged. Renogy specifies that incorrect settings can cause damage to the equipment or battery.

Intelligent Four-Stage Charging

The Renogy REGO uses an adaptive four-stage charging algorithm designed to provide an efficient and controlled charging process.

The charging sequence consists of:

• Bulk Charge – The charger provides the maximum charging current while the battery voltage is below the preset charging level.
• Boost Charge – Once the required voltage is reached, the charger maintains a constant voltage while the charging current gradually reduces.
• Float Charge – The charger reduces the voltage and provides a lower level of charging to help maintain the battery at full capacity.
• Equalization – An additional charging stage intended for suitable battery types, particularly flooded lead-acid batteries.

The charger automatically progresses through the appropriate charging stages according to the selected battery configuration. Renogy specifically advises against using equalization charging on AGM, gel or lithium batteries unless it is permitted by the battery manufacturer.

Lithium Battery Activation & Battery Protection

A useful feature of the REGO charger is its ability to activate compatible lithium batteries that have entered a sleep state following activation of their internal protection system.

If the battery voltage falls below 9V, the charger can automatically activate the lithium battery function and continue charging using constant voltage until the battery reaches 14.4V.

The charger also incorporates several protection functions designed to help protect both the charger and connected battery system. These include:

• Over-current protection
• Over-temperature protection
• Low-temperature protection
• Output short-circuit protection
• Output reverse-connection protection
• Over-voltage protection

These integrated protection functions provide additional safeguards during normal operation and help reduce the risk associated with common electrical faults.

LED Status Indicators & Optional Bluetooth Monitoring

The REGO charger features LED indicators that provide visual information about the charger's operating condition. The indicators can show the current charging stage, battery status and potential fault conditions, making it easier to understand the system at a glance.

For users who want additional monitoring and configuration capabilities, the charger can be connected to an optional external Bluetooth module. When paired with the Bluetooth module, the Renogy DC Home app can provide access to real-time operating information, charging status and detailed operational data.

The Bluetooth connection can also allow charging parameters to be adjusted remotely, providing additional convenience when the charger is installed in a less accessible location.

Compact Design & Technical Specifications

The REGO 35A AC-DC Battery Charger has a compact design measuring approximately 228 × 160 × 72mm and weighs less than 3kg.

It is designed for installation on a vertical surface, protected from direct sunlight, high temperatures and water, with suitable ventilation around the charger.
