Renogy 200W ShadowFlux Rigid Solar Panel Kit
Renogy 200W ShadowFlux Rigid Solar Panel Kit
Advanced ShadowFlux Anti-Shading Technology
The Renogy 200W ShadowFlux Rigid Solar Panel Kit brings advanced anti-shading technology to mobile and off-grid solar installations. At the centre of the kit is Renogy's 200W ShadowFlux N-Type rigid solar panel, designed with cell-level shadow management technology to help reduce the performance losses that can occur when part of a conventional solar panel becomes shaded.
Partial shading can be particularly challenging for solar panels installed on motorhomes, caravans, campervans and boats, where rooflights, vents, aerials, satellite equipment, trees, buildings and other surrounding objects can create unavoidable areas of shade. ShadowFlux technology is designed to manage these conditions at cell level, helping the panel continue producing useful power when portions of the panel are affected by shade rather than allowing one shaded area to disproportionately affect overall panel performance.
The 200W ShadowFlux panel uses 52 high-efficiency Mono N-Type solar cells arranged in a 4 × 13 configuration and provides a maximum rated output of 200W under Standard Test Conditions (STC). Renogy specifies an optimum operating voltage of 31.3V and an optimum operating current of 6.38A, with an open-circuit voltage of 36.5V and short-circuit current of 6.86A.
High-Efficiency 200W N-Type Solar Panel
The ShadowFlux 200W panel uses N-Type monocrystalline solar cell technology to provide a high-power solar solution within a relatively compact rigid panel. Its rated maximum power output is 200W, with a module efficiency of 20.70%.
The panel has an optimum operating voltage of 31.3V and optimum operating current of 6.38A. Its open-circuit voltage is 36.5V and short-circuit current is 6.86A. The panel is rated for a maximum system voltage of 1,000V DC and has a maximum series fuse rating of 15A.
The N-Type cell design and ShadowFlux technology are intended to provide strong performance in changing real-world conditions, particularly where completely unobstructed sunlight cannot always be guaranteed. This makes the panel particularly suitable for mobile applications where roof-mounted equipment and changing surroundings can result in intermittent partial shading.
Renogy also highlights ShadowFlux as a technology designed to maximise solar output under partial-shading conditions, making the 200W panel particularly relevant to motorhomes, campervans, caravans, boats and other installations where panel positioning can be restricted.
Complete 200W Solar Charging Kit
This package provides more than just the solar panel, giving you the essential components required to create a compact off-grid solar charging system. The kit configuration follows the same package concept as the 120W version, with the higher-output 200W ShadowFlux panel at its centre.
The kit includes:
-
1 × Renogy 200W ShadowFlux rigid solar panel
-
1 × 20ft 10AWG connection cable
-
1 × set of Renogy mounting brackets
-
1 × Renogy 20A MPPT solar charge controller
-
1 × cable gland
The supplied MPPT controller is designed to regulate the power generated by the solar panel before it is supplied to the connected battery bank. MPPT technology tracks the panel's operating point to make efficient use of the available solar energy as sunlight and operating conditions change.
The 200W panel is well matched to a 20A MPPT controller for a 12V or 24V installation. Renogy's Rover 20A controller supports up to 260W of PV input on a nominal 12V system and up to 520W on a nominal 24V system.
Designed for Motorhomes, Caravans, Boats & Off-Grid Applications
The 200W output makes this kit suitable for customers looking to generate more solar energy from a single rigid panel while keeping the installation relatively straightforward. It can be used as part of suitable solar charging systems for motorhomes, campervans, caravans, boats, cabins, sheds and other off-grid applications.
The rigid aluminium-framed construction provides a permanent-style installation solution compared with portable or flexible solar panels. The mounting brackets can be used to secure the panel to an appropriate surface, while the included cable gland helps provide a neat route for the solar cable through a suitable mounting location.
The 200W panel provides a higher rated solar output than the 120W version while retaining the ShadowFlux anti-shading technology. This makes it particularly useful where available roof space is limited and customers want to maximise the amount of solar generation from each panel.
The panel's relatively high operating voltage also makes it suitable for use with compatible MPPT solar charge controllers. Renogy specifies a 36.5V open-circuit voltage and 31.3V optimum operating voltage for the 200W ShadowFlux.
Durable Construction for Outdoor Installation
The Renogy ShadowFlux 200W panel is constructed with an anodised aluminium alloy frame and tempered front glass, providing a robust design for outdoor solar installations. The panel measures approximately 1,262 × 764 × 30mm and weighs approximately 10.81kg.
The panel is designed to operate across a wide temperature range of approximately -40°C to +85°C, allowing it to be used in a broad range of outdoor environments. Renogy specifies a nominal operating cell temperature (NOCT) of 45 ± 2°C.
The panel has a temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C for maximum power, -0.25%/°C for open-circuit voltage and +0.05%/°C for short-circuit current. These specifications describe how the panel's electrical characteristics can change as operating temperature varies.
The datasheet specifies an IP67-rated junction box and IP68 solar connectors, providing protection suitable for outdoor solar installations when the system is correctly installed and the connections are properly mated.
20A MPPT Charge Controller & System Protection
The included Renogy Rover 20A MPPT charge controller is designed to regulate the electricity produced by the solar panel before it is supplied to the connected battery bank. MPPT technology continually tracks the solar panel's maximum power point, helping to make effective use of the available solar energy as sunlight and panel conditions change.
The controller supports 12V and 24V systems and provides a rated charging current of 20A. Renogy specifies maximum PV input power of 260W at 12V and 520W at 24V, with a maximum PV input voltage of up to 95V DC on the relevant Rover 20A specification.
The controller incorporates multiple protective functions designed to help protect the solar charging system, battery and connected equipment. Depending on the configuration, these include protection against overcharging, over-discharging, overload, short circuits and other abnormal operating conditions.
The 200W ShadowFlux panel therefore provides a suitable power level for use with the supplied 20A MPPT controller, particularly in a 12V or 24V battery-based off-grid system. As with any solar installation, the complete system should be correctly sized according to the battery, expected energy consumption, cable lengths and installation conditions.
Installation & Compatibility
The Renogy 200W ShadowFlux kit is intended to be installed as part of a suitable off-grid solar charging system. The included 20A MPPT controller is designed for 12V and 24V battery systems, while the supplied solar cable, mounting hardware and cable gland provide the essential components for connecting and installing the panel.
The solar panel should be mounted securely to a suitable surface using appropriate mounting hardware, with consideration given to structural support, cable routing, ventilation, shading and environmental exposure. The panel's pre-drilled mounting holes also allow it to be securely attached using compatible mounting hardware.
When installing the system, appropriate electrical protection and correctly sized cabling should be used. The charge controller and battery should be connected in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions, and the complete system should be configured to suit the battery technology and system voltage.
The kit is particularly suited to motorhomes, caravans, campervans, boats and other off-grid applications where customers require additional solar charging capacity and where partial shading may be unavoidable.
Please note: Solar output varies depending on sunlight intensity, panel orientation, temperature, shading, installation angle, weather and other environmental conditions. The 200W rating is measured under Standard Test Conditions (STC) and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed continuous real-world output. The panel, controller and associated electrical equipment should always be installed and configured in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the requirements of the complete electrical system.
