If you’re a fan of visiting the same place for your caravan holiday or want your caravan to be a home away from home, a static caravan is an ideal choice for you. But what makes it better than another other type of caravan?
Pros
Get to know the area
As you are permanently set up in one area, you quickly get to know the town, city, or village nearest to you. You’ll know all of the good places to eat, the best tourist attractions, and how to get from A to B – just like you do already at home.
Can leave your belongings behind
If you do any outdoor activities whilst away in your caravan, it can be a pain to pack, load and store any equipment you need. With a static caravan, you can keep your equipment there and not have to worry about how you are going to get it home and where you’ll keep it. instead, you give them a clean and keep them in the caravan.
Rent it
Even though you own the caravan, you mostly likely won’t be using it 24/7 365 days of the year. So, when you aren’t want to spend some time at your home away from home, you can rent it out to others. However, only certain caravan sites will allow this so double check before investing in your own static caravan. Some sites, who do allow renting, also have a lettings agent onsite who will manage your tenants for you. So, you can sit at home earn back the money you spent whilst going about your day-to-day life.
More space
Unlike a tourer or campervan, static caravans tend to have a lot more space for you and your guests. Depending on which you buy, they tend to have a spacious living area and between 2-4 bedrooms – perfect for families.
Its secure
Unlike parking your tourer on your driveway, you leave your static caravan on site, most of which have 24/7 security. This means, your caravan will be more secure and there is always someone available if the worse does happen.
Cons
Can be expensive
Static caravans aren’t cheap, especially brand-new ones, and don’t last forever. If you aren’t going to be spending a lot of time there, it might not be worth your money.
Not only is the caravan itself a little pricey, but also the cost to visit can get expensive. Whilst you don’t have to pay to stay in your own caravan, you will still need to pay for any meals out, food shopping, or day trips which can get expensive if you visit regularly.
Boredom
If you are frequent visitor to your caravan and spend a lot of time there, after a while you may get bored of visiting the same place and doing the same activities. And unlike a tourer, you can’t easily hitch it to your car and explore somewhere else.
